The Dewsburys: Scenes from a Suburban Marriage

The Dewsburys: Scenes from a Suburban Marriage… Paperback – 2 Oct 2006
by “Banx” (Illustrator)

The Dewsburys are a suburban couple whose marriage ran out of steam somewhere round the time of the Falklands War, but kept going under the sheer power of its own intertia. We see them fighting over the TV remote, their pathetic forays into experimental sex, breaking wind in the bath, playing with a train set in the toilet, golf-hoovering and the day Mrs. Dewsbury set the cat on her husband. “The Dewsburys” is a startlingly frank insight into the thwarted lives of a flawed suburban couple as they unfold, full of petty frustrations and largely unfulfilled lust. It features 96 black and white cartoons.
