I love comedy and had heard about the movie on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast (an amazing thing that you should listen to if you like these sorts of things). I’ve also always enjoyed Kevin Pollack. This was a great chance to hear from many practitioners of the craft on all sorts of things–how they got interested in comedy, what it feels like to bomb, what it’s like to do the work they do. I loved the movie and think it’s great for anyone who’s a fan of stand-up. The movie has a wide range of talented people in it, and I could have watched something twice as long. I am a writer and an artist, and I always find it interesting to see how much creative people have in common (most people don’t seem to understand us as well as other creative types). Well done, and glad I saw it. I’m also glad I bought it instead of renting (it was a small price difference) as I know I will want to see it again
