Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year: 2013 Edition Paperback – November 30, 2012
by Charles Brooks Jr. (Author), Steve Kelley (Editor)

In this forty-first annual edition of an acclaimed series, more than four hundred clever and provocative editorial cartoons spotlight and satirize the major events of 2012. With viewpoints from liberal to conservative, no subject is off limits. The wit of the nation’s best cartoonists targets everything from politics, government, and the economy to pop culture and sports.

From the Back Cover
A bitter, hard-fought presidential election–one of the most contentious in American history–provided many of the major issues on which leading editorial cartoonists focused their attention and talents in 2012. This volume, the forty-first annual edition in an acclaimed series, spotlights those issues as well as the headline-making actions, ideas, and personalities that made the year a memorable one. Continuing acts of world terrorism, a questionable economic recovery, a U.S. debt of $16 trillion, and the nuclear ambitions of a determined Iran–these subjects and more present tempting targets for the pictorial slings and arrows of the cartoonists’ pen. The editor of this volume is Steve Kelley, who served as the political cartoonist for the San Diego Union-Tribune and the New Orleans Times-Picayune for three decades. Along with Jeff Parker, he is the co-creator of “Dustin,” a comic strip syndicated to more than 320 newspapers.
