Academic Research

ULWAN FAKHRI NOVIADHISTA is an IHIK3’s Academic Research. His zeal for humor and comedy is unquestionable, proven by the fact that he dared to fight over the TV remote with his parents enabling him to watch his favorite comedy TV series (he has repented for fear of karma). Born in Surabaya, 27 November 1993, earned his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Brawijaya University in 2014 with an undergraduate thesis on politeness theory in stand-up comedy. Currently, he is undertaking a Master’s program in Communication Science at the same university, exploring humor and identity for his thesis.

In addition to being a researcher at IHIK3, Ulwan is a stand-up comedian engaging in Standup Indo Malang community since 2012. His achievements include: being a finalist in Kompas TV’s Liga Komunitas Stand-up (2014) and opening Happinest special show by Ernest Prakasa in Malang (2015). He has been a radio comedy scriptwriter for a comic, Arie Kriting, on Hitz FM (2015-2016) and the animated-comedy Trans TV’s series, ‘Plentis Kentus’ (2016).
